Leaving Taylor Bennett. What Sarah did next

Sarah Stimson is a longtime friend of this blog. At Taylor Bennett she’s been a champion of diversity in PR. Today she’s launched a new venture called Ladder Talent and unveiled a handful of passion projects.

The time has come for me to leave the Taylor Bennett Foundation after 11 years.

I’m enormously proud of all we have achieved and the young people we have supported into the industry. Making the decision to go has not been easy, but I leave the charity in the very capable hands of the dedicated staff and trustees.

Please continue to support the vital work they do, improving ethnic diversity in the PR industry. My last day at the Foundation is today and the new CEO will start in December.

There are new and exciting things on the horizon and I wanted to let you know what I’m going to be up to next, and how you can reach me.

Ladder Talent

I am delighted to announce the launch of Ladder Talent, a people consultancy for the creative industries.

Ladder Talent is a people consultancy for the creative industries. We will help you to attract, develop, inspire and celebrate your staff.

We've pulled together a collective of talented creatives, media, and comms people who can deliver brilliant training, e-learning, speaking, coaching, and employee events for the creative industries.

Check us all out here. Here are some of the things we can help you with:

  • Fabulous comms and staff development training delivered at your offices

  • Easy to access e-learning courses

  • Design and delivery of internship programmes

  • Recruitment advisory, including assessment day design and delivery

  • Diversity audit, advisory and unconscious bias training

  • A brand new leadership development programme

  • An exciting rising stars development programme

  • Executive coaching

Board positions

I will continue to sit on the board of ELATT as a trustee and Workio as a non-exec director and Chair of the board.

Workio helps companies map and understand their company culture using a scientific, data-led approach. It’s company culture data is used in internal management, in recruiting for culture fit, in improving diversity within companies, and to improve M&A outcomes by addressing culture issues between merging companies.

Blogging and writing

I will also carry on running my blogs PRcareers.co.uk and stimsonsarah.com and I am planning a second edition of How to get a job in PR.

I will be compiling the very popular annual PR internships and graduate schemes list on PRcareers very soon. If you would like to submit info to that, please read the FAQ.

Recruitment app

I’m working with some app developers to launch a graduate recruitment product which will help employers identify talent and match their vacancies with potential employees’ values, personality and skills.

We’ll create insights around applicants' creativity, organisational skills, team working ability, writing skills, numeracy and much more. We’ll be looking for employers to beta test this product in the next 12 months and so if your organisation is interested in doing that please do let me know.

If you’d like to have a chat you can reach me on 07739 426358. My new email is sarah@laddertalent.com. I’m also on Twitter @GoooRooo.
